Welcome to the official website of the Finnish composer Veikko Valanne.

 

V.A.Valanne (2000-) is a Finnish composer. Valanne is studying music pedagogy in Tampere University of Applied Sciences, majoring in music theory, piano and composition. From 2019 to 2021 Valanne studied in Helsinki conservatory of music, and graduated as a professional musician. He studied composition from 2015 to 2021 at the Central-Helsinki Music College.

 

Valanne was awarded with the honorary award in the 3rd Uuno Klami youth composition competition with his work titled Creation of the Universe op.5. In 2019 his symphonic poem Lorelei op.9 was premiered by HKO (Helsingin Kaupunginorkesteri).

 

At the moment (August 2022), his catalogue includes 29 opusnumbered pieces, including one symphony, 4 lieder/Songs, symphonic poems, works for chamber ensemble and many miniature pieces for piano. As his favourite composers, he mentions Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jean Sibelius, Gustav Mahler, and Karl Goldmark.
